History Banda Aceh City

Banda Aceh is one of the city and the capital of Aceh, Indonesia. Formerly it was named Kutaraja, then since December 28, 1962, the name was changed to Banda Aceh. As the seat of Government, Banda Aceh, became the Centre of all activities of the economic, political, social and cultural.

The History Of
The city that has been aged 802 this year – based on the rule of the Aceh Region no. 5 1988 22 April 1205 date set as the town's existence. Cheng Ho had a layover in Banda Aceh on his first expedition after a layover in Palembang.

On 26 December 2004, the city was hit by a tidal wave of tsunami caused by Quake 9.2 on the Richter scale in the Indonesia. This disaster engulfing hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed more than 60% of the buildings of the city. Up to now not yet known how the exact number of inhabitants of the Banda Aceh after the tsunami.

Location of astronomical Banda Aceh is 05 ° 16′e/48. – 05 ° 16 ° North latitude and 102 ° 16′e/15 ° – 95 ° 22′n 20 ° East Longitude, with an average height of 0.80 meters above sea level.
